Thursday, June 6, 2002. 218pm. Seoul, Korea.
got back from work a little while ago. i must confess, i never thought it would be this difficult teaching english, but it's a lot harder than i thought. the last time we went out, i taught them how to order ice cream from a baskin robbins. today, we learned how to order from kfc. it's pretty convenient that there is a baskin robbins and a kfc in the neighborhood. anyway, that took about an hour and we had to waste time somehow. but i had told the girls that i would buy the first one to go up and order in english ice cream so we went back to baskin robbins. the girl behind the counter remembered us from last week and asked if we would be ordering in english again. haha....so because it was so hot today, we went down to the subway and chilled. i remembered this exercise we did in sophomore year spanish where we had to partner up and exchange information in spanish so i made the girls do that (but in english, not spanish). afterwards, we came back together and i had them introduce their partner. i don't know how well that went, but i told them that we were going to do this at random times just so they could get used to speaking english. i also went over what time we were meeting and where we were meeting this saturday, so i'm pretty sure that they understand the phrases, "what time are we meeting?" and "where are we meeting?" fairly well. sigh....now i have to figure out something to do this saturday....and i still have a sore throat....=(
